《Ulysses》, Lord Alfred Tennyson 1833

 這是我每次看到"seek"這個字就會想起的詩句。

如果沒記錯的話，應該是在余伯伯的英詩課讀到這首歌，好像畢業典禮時某位老師也讀了這句詩送給畢業生。

'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.                             
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.
It may be that the gulfs will wash us down:
It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,
And see the great Achilles, whom we knew
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
 

只要腦海裡浮現念著那句詩的聲音，就會覺得為了自己的夢想或想做的事再出發時，心裡充滿幹勁。在外征戰了20年的老頭子可以這樣熱情不減，20年後的我做得到嗎？或者是，會有這樣一件事讓我持續20年也依然strong in will嗎？以後的我，到底會過著怎麼樣的生活呢？

看了第18集的《第二回合我愛你》之後，忍不住又這樣無聊的想著。

但，與其花這些時間去想這個問題，不如就像妙妙說的那樣，「把握當下過好每一天」，持續努力，這樣，我應該可以免於目前任孝國懊悔不已的命運吧。
